Baby Shower Dessert Table
Of course this was the Coolest baby shower ever, from the adorable banners to the dessert table we had everyone cooing the moment they walked in!
Delicate baby clothes, booties, and hats were on display and artfully coordinated with the dessert items. The overall look and feel was a simple natural sugar and spice theme.
The backdrop used for the dessert table was a faux natural distressed wood piece made with heavy cardboard wrapped in a wood grain pattern paper. Three display pieces for the dessert table were constructed using natural bleached Manzanita branches with bamboo platters at the base. Baby clothing items were artfully hung from two of the Manzanita branches, while food items were put on display at the base of each platter.
The two cakes were decorated to match with each outfit on display; the first outfit was a frilly Pink tutu over a pale chocolate brown and pink polka dot onesie , for this we made a strawberry cake with a light chocolate fluffy icing and tied a frilly sheer pink ribbon and bow at the base. The second cake was decorated using the ruffle technique in pink icing and coordinated beautifully with the soft ruffles on the bottom of the long soft pink gown. The third display, the smaller of the three was used to hang baby booties and pink ballerina slippers with frilly cupcakes at the base! The cake pops were inserted in containers that were fitted with foam then covered with colored sugar. In the center of each container was a giant faux cake pop that was constructed by fitting ½ of a 5 inch foam spheres (the other half was used for the containers) onto a 12-18 inch long and ¼ inch width dowel rod then covered with cute baby hat. The actual cake pops were candy coated to coordinate with the baby hats!.
