Tea Party Baby Shower Cake

This is a picture of baby shower cake from our tear party Shower. Since we decided on a tea party theme for my daughter's baby shower I knew I wanted the baby cake to reflect the mood.

After a lot of time searching I came up with this cake in a tea cup idea.

I made the cup, saucer, baby and teddy and blankie from gumpaste. The cake is a 10" round 4 layer chocolate cake with a mixture of butter cream and cream cheese for filling, covered in fondant.

Thank you for the nice comments. For the cup I rolled out some gumpaste and shaped it on the outside of a ramekin (covered the ramekin with plastic wrap), trimming the edges to look neat. Allowed it to dry, after I formed a handle from gumpaste and attached to the cup. For the saucer I covered a real saucer with plastic wrap laid gumpaste on it trimmed it and allowed it to dry. I then used royal icing to make little flowers for the look of china. Painted edges with edible silver luster dust. Hope this helps.
