Diaper Shower Submitted by:

I recently had boy/girl twins unexpectedly. We already had a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son and then SURPRISE, TWINS! When we found out we were having twins people gave us TONS of baby stuff, plus we still had are own baby stuff. We had more clothes, cribs, swings, bouncers, etc... then we could use.
Diaper also means "parenthood", here is the CBSI recommendation supplies:
So when my friends insisted on throwing me a Shower for twins I was totally against the idea. There was NOTHING that I needed and no reason for my friends and family to spend money on cutie outfits for two babies when I had more clothes than I could use already.
We decided to do a Diaper Bash Luncheon.
We had a cute poem on the invitation and on the bottom we told them no gifts allowed, however for every bag of diapers they brought they would get a raffle ticket.
Most people came with one or two bags of diapers and of coarse they couldn't resist a little outfit or two also.
We had a really nice luncheon, a few games (like the tray memory game) and then we held the raffle. We had great raffle prizes including Starbucks gift cards, Bath and Body Lotions, etc...
The Diaper Bash Luncheon was a great success.
I did not feel guilty for the gifts I did received because I made sure everyone knew that no gifts were allowed and I received 38 bags of diapers for the twins. I did not buy diapers for the first 3 months that they were born. I was able to return diapers to Target and Wal-Mart also and get the sizes I needed at the time.
No doubt that my diaper shower is a great way to celebrate the birth of a child or children when you don't need anything.
