CBSI Recommendation:
You'll need:
* a double-boiler or microwave
* bowls and spoons
* candy molds
* moldiong chocolate
* small cellophane bags
* small squeeze bottle
* candy thermometer
Depending on what kind of chocolate baby shower favor you're making, you might also want to have:
* lollipop sticks
* luster dust
* small paint brush
* oil-based flavorings
* ribbons
Use Guy-like Candy Molds. Instead of the typical bottle or botties, you can find more masculine type plastic molds in craft shops and online store.
The ideas are endless, such as a certain sports team, dogs, vehicles or even the letters that make up your name shaped candy molds from SugarCraft.com.
Next, Melt the Chocolate.
Melts two pounds of chocolate with a double boiler at a time. Remember to place water in the lower pan and bring it up to temperature. And make sure no water mixes with the chocolate or this batch will be ruined.
If you are working with more than one color of chocolate or are marbleizing with two tones, consider using the microwave. Place half a pound of chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on high about one minute.
Stir the chocolate until completely melted.
Now, add your preferred oil-based flavoring. Don't overdo it, 20-25 drops of flavouring per pound of chocolate works nicely.
Fill a small ammount chocolate into each mold crevice to the top. If your chocolate favor needs a lollipop stick, insert it now.
Then place the mold in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Remove the chocolate from the freezer and place each chocolate on a sheet of wax paper to rest.
Next, dip a regular paintbrush first in a clear water then in the luster dust. Brush the powder onto your chocolate for a solid looking color - ooh, what a nice sparkle!
Finally, put each part of chocolate favor into a cellophane bag and tying with a pretty ribbon.
Look at your handmade baby shower favor for dad - what a confection masterpiece that the new daddy and his buddies will say, "Can I have more?"
