Raggedy Ann Baby Shower Invite Design by Lori Fisher
(Somerest, PA)
We are planning my sister-in-law's baby shower with her chosen theme... Primitive Raggedy Ann (rag-doll type, not the "typical Raggedy Ann"). We plan on decorating a local social hall with all types of dolls, primitive decorations, an old trunk with primitive toys, etc.
CBSI recommendation:
I personally made her invitations, which I've received COUNTLESS compliments on. I made them out of material...a round raggedy ann face.
I stitched her mouth and around her triangle, felt nose. I used buttons for her eyes and stitched around them as well. I punched holes around the top of her head and looped burgundy yard through the holes. For the back, I made a round frame and glued pieces of material (homespun) around the round frame. I placed the invite in the center of frame.
Everyone loved them.
I made over 50 of them... very inexpensive BUT time-consuming. I then made a few extra invitations and purchased a cheap mobile for the Mommy-to-be. Instead of placing the invitation in the frame, I placed round mirrors and glued the heads to the strings hanging off the mobile. It looks adorable.
